Symptoms

After creating a new user in an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) that has External Authentication for WebLogic Server (WLS) and Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) set, retrieving the GUID results in the following error:

User [user] is not valid within the External Authentication framework. Please select another username.
