Exalogic Virtual: Dom0 Compute Nodes Having Large Number Of VM's Running On It Or High Number Of vCPUs Utilization Hang Intermittently After Upgrading To January 2018/April 2018/July 2018 PSU (Doc ID 2452898.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks (X4-2,X5-2,X6-2) running Jan 2018 PSU or April, July 2018 later PSUs which have CX3 IB HCA cards with firmware version 2.35.5534, when there are large number of vServers or vCPUs being used on the Dom0 Compute Nodes, issue of Compute Node hang is seen intermittently.

When the issue happens all the guest vServers running on the Compute Node become unresponsive. Below error messages are seen in messages system logs on the Compute node at the time of the issue.


MLX4_DEV_EVENT_PORT_DOWN and o2net connection idle messages are seen as follows:
