Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks (X4-2,X5-2,X6-2) running Jan 2018 PSU or April, July 2018 later PSUs which have CX3 IB HCA cards with firmware version 2.35.5534, issue was IB networks (both IPoIB and EoIB) not working on HA enabled Guest vServers is noticed.

In this case, when there is hung Compute Node/crash or auto reboot situation, the HA enable vServers are restarted on other Compute Node. When that happens many of the vServers restarted due to HA will not have IB networks working.

“ibstat” and “mlx4_vnic_info –l” show following on the issue guest VM:

However, in our case, there is no any duplicated admin GUID of the guest VMs on Dom0.

This issue is seen after upgrading the rack to Jan 2018 or April 2018 or July 2018 PSU.
