Goal

Is the new JDBC feature "Oracle Network Compression over WAN" an option for Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64bit Production ?

If ojdbc8 driver version 12.2.0.1 is used and property oracle.net.networkCompression = "on" is set, will that have any effect, given that database version 12.1.0.2.0 is used?
