Difference Between config-booted.jar and config-original.jar For WLS File Archiving Backup and Recovery (Doc ID 2469701.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When configuration file archiving with Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS), you can configure WLS to make backup copies of the configuration files. This facilitates recovery in cases where configuration changes need to be reversed or the unlikely case that configuration files become corrupted. When setting the domain setting of ConfigBackupEnabled to true, it will create two files called config-booted.jar and config-original.jar .

It may be asked - what is the difference between config-booted.jar and config-original.jar ?
