Basic Windows 10 Utilities Such As Sticky Notes Or Calculator Crash And Terminate Unexpectedly When ESSO-LM Is Installed (Doc ID 2484129.1)

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On: Logon Manager 11.1.2.3.1

With the ESSO client installed on a Windows 10 machine, the following basic Windows 10 functions crash and terminate unexpectedly and will not open:

Sticky Notes
Calculator
Alarms & Clock
Maps
Paint
Photos
Weather
& others

When opening Calculator, the following error message appears in the Event Viewer Application log:


ERROR

App Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_10.1804.911.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe was terminated with error 0xC000047E because of an issue with Windows binary \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Passlogix\v-GO SSO\Helper\IE\bhohook64.dll. This could be because the binary is unsigned, contains an untrusted signature, or has been corrupted or tampered with. Refresh your PC to fix this issue.



STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Install/configure ESSO-LM client on Windows 10 platform.
2. Start the ESSO-LM client.
3. Attempt to access basic Windows utilities such as Calculator.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Due to this issue, users cannot use basic Windows utilities on Windows 10 with ESSO-LM installed.
