Unable to open a Previously Customized JSF Page for a Seeded WebCenter Portal task flow: "SEVERE: Error creating XmlContext for oracle.ide.Context" (Doc ID 2487047.1)

Symptoms

Upon opening the task flow customization application in JDeveloper in Customization Developer Role, the following error is displayed in JDeveloper with reference to the customized jsf file:

ERROR:

 

SEVERE: Error creating XmlContext for
   oracle.ide.Context[{Context.WORKSPACE=<CUSTOM_TASK_FLOW>.jws,
     Context.PROJECT=ViewController.jpr,
     Context.EVENT=null_key_12349123847123948712390487123904871239478,
     Context.VIEW=Editor2, Context.NODE=ListTopics.jsff,
     Context.SELECTION=[Loracle.ide.model.Element;@135d37a}]
     java.lang.IllegalStateException: Error creating XmlContext for
     ListTopics.jsf
  ...
 
  Caused by: oracle.mds.exception.MDSRuntimeException: java.lang.NullPointerException




STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Perform a task flow customization as indicated in the following document:

    or

  2. Open the task flow customization application with JDeveloper.

  3. From the Tools menu select: Switch Roles -> Customization Developer.

  4. Click "Yes" when prompted is you want to restart JDeveloper.

  5. Upon restart of JDeveloper you will get the error related to the task flow customization.
