OUD11g - Why the OUD Connection Metrics in cn=Monitor from Ldapsearch Output are not Displying "0" But Always "1" or Over? (Doc ID 2498215.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When viewing monitoring information using the cn=monitor entry, the "***Connections" metrics are displayed to not "0" but "1".

No LDAP clients have not connected to Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) yet because OUD was just restarted.

Why are the connection metrics not "0" but "1"?

For example:

$ ldapsearch -h <HOST> -p 4444 --useSSL -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w <PASSWORD> -b "cn=monitor" -s base "(objectclass=*)"
maxConnections: 1
currentConnections: 1
totalConnections: 1
