Applies to:
Oracle GoldenGate - Version 12.3.0.1.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
With the 12.3+ CDC Extract for SQL Server, GoldenGate relies on the SQL Server CDC Capture job to capture transactions from the database transaction log and populate them into CDC staging tables. If the SQL Server database is enabled as part of an AlwaysOn Availability Group, all replicas for that database must be in sync in order for the CDC Capture job to continuously capture new transactions, otherwise the SQL Server CDC Capture job may appear to be running correctly, it just may not be populating the _CT staging tables.extract cdc mode will not capture transactions to OGG transaction table.
Goal
If Extract is not capturing data and appears hung, and the SQL Server CDC Capture job is running correctly, check if the database is part of an AlwaysOn Availability Group, and if so, have the customer check to determine that the Primary and all Secondary databases are in sync.
