PDF Files Are Generated Very Slow By Itext On Weblogic12c (Doc ID 2507299.1)

Symptoms

On WLS 12.2.1.3, it takes about 45 secs to 1 minute for PDF files to be created. The Java code is deployed on the Weblogic server. PDF files are created using iText, version is 4.2
When the files are generated the following error is seen in WLS server logs:
