Internal Error When Attempting to Copy a Device Group in WebCenter Portal (Doc ID 2507399.1)

Symptoms


Getting Internal Error when attempting to copy a device group.



ERROR

 

The Portal UI shows the following error:

Internal Error (WCS#YYYY.MM.DD.SS.MS)

Oops! Something went wrong.

If the error persists please close all instances of your browser and try again.


The Portal diagnostic log shows the following error:

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Connect to WebCenter Portal as an Administrator user.

  2. Navigate to Administration->Device Settings.

  3. Select a device group.
    For example: iOS Phones.

  4. Select Actions->Copy.

  5. Provide a Name and Display Name and click OK.
    Here you will get the error.
