Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, Issue of "/" root filesystem being full is noticed on Compute Nodes at the time of the Exachk execution. In this case the Exachk version being used was 18.4.0_20181129.

When running Exachk version 18.4.0_20181129 or higher version, there is a temp file /root/.Exachk which gets generated on each Dom0 Compute Node. This file is about 500M in size which makes root file system of the compute nodes almost full.

Once the Exachk checking is done, /root/.Exachk temp file gets cleaned up and the root file system usage comes back to normal on the Compute Nodes.
