When editing folder metadata the current logged in user is populated as the author even when value is removed

On : 12.2.1.2.0 version, Content Server
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Current User is populated, rather than original author, in metadata field dDocAuthor for Sub-Folder / File Updates page.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Field should not be automatically populated with current user for dDocAuthor. If the field is not deleted than only the current user has access to that folder/content.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. User Logins to WCC
2. Navigate to Content/Sub-Folder - Update Metadata
3. 'Contributor' - dDocAuthor is populate with current user
BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Users are forced to manually delete their name from the field.
