Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Qn1:The database credential can be identified in plain text, e.g. through Wireshark, when OSB/SOA is making DB2 connection to AS/400 database .

Please clarify if weblogic is encrypting the datasource passwords ? if not please let us know the steps on encrypting the Datasource connection passwords.

Customer wants to know

1, Is the DB2 Password entered in the datasource configuration is traceable in the network as plain text password ?
2. Does weblogic encrypt the datasource passwords?
3. Is the connection between datasource ( DB2 Database and OSB server is secure?
OSB team: Form OSB perspective the security of the connection relies on the Datasource end thus not part of the adapter itself.

Qn2:Does Oracle provide its own supported/certified JDBC drivers for connecting securely to DB2?
