Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 12.3.0.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is it possible to recover a target database from an RMAN back of target database and resync replication?

Scenario:

Oracle to Oracle replication.
Target database takes nightly RMAN backups.
GoldenGate trail files are stored in target for one week.
Target database gets corrupted.

Is it possible to restore the target DB to last night's RMAN backup, and then resync with the source DB? Or is the only option to instantiate from the source?
