Goal

Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) and Service Object Architecture (SOA) use the User Messaging Server (UMS) Email driver functionality to send and receive email notifications. Outbound notifications are sent using SMTP and inbound notifications (used for actionable email functionality) use IMAP4 or POP3.  Support for "Basic Authentication" has either ended or is ending in various e-mail systems.
