Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In X6-2 rack with 768 GB memory or higher, when upgrading to Oct 2018 PSU, the patching is changing GRUB configuration and not reflecting total memory installed.

As per our memory recommendations (Doc ID 1582091.1),

For X5-2 and X6-2 (with 768 GB of memory):
  kernel /xen.gz dom0_mem=18432M
  kernel /xen.gz console=com1,vga com1=9600,8n1 dom0_mem=18432M

After applying the Oct 2018 PSU, the grub.conf entry 'dom0_mem' is assigned a value of '12800M', instead of '18432M'.

Changes

Apply Oct 2018 PSU in X6-2 rack with 768 GB of memory
