Unable to Add Navigation Item Links in a Custom WebCenter Portal Application: The URL is not available in the list of valid URLs (Doc ID 2559404.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to add a navigation link, the following error is returned:

ERROR

The URL is not available in the list of valid URLs.

For Link, the path must begin with http:// or https:// or extapp:// or portlet:// or taskflow:// or /webcenter or /oracle or page:// or /contextRoot in case of Portal Framework Application and contact your system administrator for the list of valid URLs. For Page Link, the path must begin with page://.For Content Item, the path must begin with content://.

 

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Connect to a custom portal.

  2. Go to Administration -> Assets -> Navigations.

  3. Edit a navigation.

  4. Click Add -> Link.

  5. Set the navigation to an external link.
    e.g.:

    Path: https://www.oracle.com/index.html
     
    The error is displayed.
