How would you create custom code in order to update the contents of a CSElement programmatically?

For example, we would like to create multiple versions of specific functionality based on a specific config asset. So as each config asset is created we wanted to create the CSElement to perform a certain things. But when an asset is updated, we need the ability to update the CSElement to reflect the changes in asset.
