Cannot Delete Element in Eclipse Containing a Slash in Name (Doc ID 2564419.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to delete any CSElement in Eclipse using the Developer Tools plugin, the following error occurs if the element name contains a slash:

com.fatwire.csdt.exceptions.UnexpectedException: org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.ResourceException: Resource '<path/filename>.main.xml' does not exist.
 at com.fatwire.csdt.util.Transformers.deserialize(Transformers.java:364)
 at com.fatwire.csdt.views.elementtree.actions.Delete.findRelatedAssetEntry(Delete.java:102)
