Getting "Incompatible Types" Errors During Compilation Of Web Service Proxy Interface (Doc ID 2580950.1)

Symptoms

Created a Web Service Proxy client in JDeveloper using the Web Service Proxy wizard.

But during compilation is reporting multiple "incompatible types" errors in the Service interface generated by the wizard:

Project: <PROJECT_PATH>\<PROJECT_NAME>.jpr
<PROJECT_PATH>\<SRC_DIR>\<PACKAGE>\<SERVICE_NAME>.java
Error(xx,yy): incompatible types
Error(xx,yy): incompatible types
Error(xx,yy): incompatible types
Error(xx,yy): incompatible types
