Is it possible to remove "Greyed-out" custom roles from EDQ Project Security tab?

In EDQ Director, expand the Projects, right-click on an EDQ Project, then click Properties. The Properties window opens up. Click on the Security tab and then click Configure. The Groups windows opens and shows the groups that are available to add or to remove.  In some cases, custom created roles show up as greyed-out, so you cannot select them to remove from a project.
