How to Synchornize An Specific List of Users from WebCenter Portal Using the synchronizeUserInformation Script (Doc ID 2599911.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The synchronizeUserInformation script can be used to update the GUIDs of users whose GUID has changed, that is, the GUID currently stored for a user in WebCenter Portal's application tables, does not match the GUID that is stored for the same user in the identity store.
However until now the script could be used only to synchronize all users that were out of synch.
When having many users the script could take time to run.

Starting with the WebCenter Portal 12.2.1.3.19105WCPBP we have introduced a new option in the synchronizeUserInformation() wlst command called LIST_GUID_CHANGES_FROM_USER_LIST.
This option takes a list of users as the input parameter and checks if the user GUID of these users have changed.

If the users guid saved in the WebCenter Portal Tables does not match the guid in the identity store, then the username along with the oldGUID and newGUID is saved in a properties file which can be used to synchronize those users.
