Exalogic: SM Master State Shown As "state MASTER NOT UP" On Few IB Switches When Doing SM Master Failover (Doc ID 2603388.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic racks (both Physical and Virtual), when doing SM master failover from one Exalogic NM2-GW IB Switch to another Switch we notice that the SM Master status is shown as "state MASTER NOT UP" after doing the SM Master failover. Below is the snippet of SM Master status on el01gw02 showing "state MASTER NOT UP" status. In this example SM master was failed over from el01gw01 to el01gw02.

At the time of the issue, when we move and fail back the SM Master to Switch which was running SM Master before (in this case el01gw01) we notice that the SM Master status is shown correctly "state MASTER".

Changes
