APEX Custom Application Data Load Wizard to Load Excel File (Doc ID 2610881.1)

Custom applications that are built with Data Upload capability, the Data Load wizard allows only CSV file upload.
There is no option for Excel file upload.

The uploaded file, or copied and pasted data, still needs to be comma separated or tab delimited. It's not possible to upload excel file. This has not changed even in APEX 19.1.

But the the data upload functionality in SQL Workshop in APEX 19.1 has been modernized with a new drag & drop user interface and support for native Excel, CSV, XML and JSON documents. The same capabilities have been added to the Create App from Spreadsheet wizard and a new, public data loading PL/SQL API is available. Note that this is ONLY about the SQL Workshop Data Load functionality and Create App from Spreadsheet wizard and NOT Custom Application Data load.
