Smart Export of an ODI 12c Mapping Exports All Global KMs (Doc ID 2625634.1)

Symptoms

The smart export of a Mapping in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.3.190708 or later, brings along all global Knowledge Modules, although none of them is used in the Mapping.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Have a Mapping in ODI 12.2.1.3.190415, that uses only Project KMs. Have some Global template-style KMs, but these should not be used by the Mapping.
  2. In ODI 12.2.1.3.190415 Studio, smart export the Mapping, and observe that it does not export any of Global KMs.
  3. Upgrade the Repositories to ODI 12.2.1.3.190708 or 12.2.1.4.0
  4. In ODI 12.2.1.3.190708 / 12.2.1.4.0 Studio, smart export the Mapping, and observe that it also exports the Global KMs.
