'IndexOutOfBoundsException' Generating Scenario from ODI Mapping using IKM HIVE Incremental Update with Repositories on MySQL (Doc ID 2626806.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.3, scenario generation of a mapping that uses the "IKM HIVE Incremental Update" fails with the following error:

ODI-20088: Error while generating the scenario
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.Exception: ODI-20088: Error while generating the scenario

Error when calling generation delegate for component KM IKM Hive Incremental Update: String index out of range: -2
Caused by: IndexOutOfBoundsException
  at oracle.odi.domain.mapping.generator.GroovyComponentGeneratorDelegateBase.invokeASTProcessor(GroovyComponentGeneratorDelegateBase.java:161)

Error ODI-15405: Scenario generation exception: Failed to generate scenario.

To reproduce:

  1. Create a mapping using a Hive datastore model.
  2. Select IKM HIVE Incremental Update knowledge module.
  3. Attempt to generate the scenario.
