Last updated on MARCH 14, 2022

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When adding users ACLs in the WebCenter Portal Content Task Flow, the auto suggest / type ahead search isn't working as expected.
The full user name has to be entered before it's listed.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect to start typing the user name and get it suggested.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Enable Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Securing Documents in WebCenter Portal.

  2. Connect to WebCenter Portal.

  3. Go to a Portal with Documents Service Enabled.

  4. Select the Documents Page.

  5. Create a folder.

  6. Select the folder and get the Folder properties.

    • Select the Security Tab.

    • Under the user Access Control Lists search for a user.
Here you will see the user is not returned in auto-suggest unless you almost type the complete user name.

  7. Select the folder and then More -> Propagate.
    • Under the User Access List search for a user.
Here you will see the user is not returned in auto-suggest unless you almost type the complete user name.

  8. Test the auto-suggest in the Content Server Native UI for the same portal folder.
Here you will see the user name is returned as you start to type the user name.
So issue is only from the WebCenter Portal UI.
