Symptoms

When executing an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c Scenario from command line, and specifying a Variable that doesn't exist or is not used, the executed Session is not found under the "Date" tab in ODI Studio, and it is only seen under the "Session" tab or the specific agent tab.

To reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create any Scenario.

  2. Execute the Scenario from command line and specify a Variable that does not exist or that isn't used by the Scenario.

    For example:

       startscen.sh "-INSTANCE=<ODI_INSTANCE_NAME>" "-NAME=<AGENT_NAME>" <SCENARIO_NAME> <VERSION><CONTEXT> 6 "TEST.FAKEVARIABLE=1"

  3. Notice that the execution will fail as expected.

  4. Go to ODI Studio, and expand the Operator "Date" tab. The Session is not listed.

  5. Go to the "Agent" or "Sessions" tab, and find the failed execution there.
