Unknown RegionID Error: "ODI-14213: The Input Parameter Region Is Not Valid. It Is Null, Empty Or Incorrect" Encountered when Configuring Oracle Object Storage Dataserver on ODI 12.2.1.3 and Older (Doc ID 2642094.1)

Goal

 

After setting up a data server in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.3.0 for an Oracle Object Storage technology, the following error may occur if the data server points to an Oracle cloud region built after the version was released. For example, Sao Paulo.

oracle.odi.core.service.objectstorage.OdiObjectStorageServiceException: ODI-14213: Input parameter Region is not valid. It is either null/empty or invalid.

This does not happen when pointing to another region, for example, to Ashburn.

This can also occur with Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service (ODICS) running ODI earlier than 12.2.1.4.
