OUD 12c: DIGEST-MD5 SASL Authentication fails with LDAP Error 80 when Searching Join View Context (Doc ID 2643813.1)

Symptoms

The join view naming context has been configured from two local DBs in Oracle Unified Directory (OUD). The DIGEST-MD5 SASL authentication is failed with the LDAP Error code 80 if searching join view directory. "The specified parameter must not be null. (2nd parameter)" message is logged into the OUD error log file.

For example, there are two local DBs' namespaces are ou=<USER_01> and ou=<USER_02>, and the namespace joined from those local DBs is ou=<JOIN>. The LDAP Error 80 is returned if the local DB user tries to search ou=<JOIN> by using the DIGEST-MD5 SASL authentication;
