Goal

OUD 12.2.1.3.0 with OUD and OUDSM domains are created under the same ORACLE_HOME.

The requirement is to upgrade to 12.2.1.4.0.

eg,

OUD Domain

$CH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/oracle_common

$DOM1 <ORACLE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/base_domain

$MH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/Oracle_Home

$OH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/oud

$WH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/wlserver


OUDSM Domain

$CH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/oracle_common

$DOM2 <ORACLE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/oudsm_domain

$MH1 <ORACLE_HOME>

$WH1 <ORACLE_HOME>/wlserver


As per the note in section,

6.3 Upgrading an Existing Oracle Unified Directory Server Instance

It is mandatory that you create your Oracle Unified Directory instance and
Oracle Unified Directory Services Manager domain outside of the Oracle home
directory.
