ODI KM Integration Type "None" or "Undefined" Selection is Missing in Mapping for File Technology (Doc ID 2648003.1)

Last updated on APRIL 12, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.190415 to 12.2.1.4.200123 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In ODI 12.2.1.3, using a customized Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Knowledge Module (KM) of component type "File", the "Integration Type" cannot be set to "None" or "Undefined" in a mapping. The integration type is enforced, even though the KM that is used has the integration type set to "Undefined".

Any 11g mapping that was migrated has by default the "Integration Type" set to "Undefined", but it cannot be changed back to "Undefined" once an integration type was selected.

To reproduce:

  1. Create a new mapping, with source as Oracle Tech, and target a file.
  2. Go to "Logical" tab and select target file.
  3. In Properties, select "Target"
=> Notice that the "Integration Type" is missing "None", and enforces a selection of either "Control Append", "Incremental Update" or "Slowly Changing Dimension".
