Error java.lang.String errorString="Unsupported Image Format" for Reports Having PCT, PCX Images (Doc ID 265233.1)

Symptoms

A report with PCT and PCX images created in Reports 6i and run on Reports 10g (or higher) gives error  "Unsupported image format". But the same report works fine when run on Reports 6i.

You are able to view the PCT and PCX files in Report Builder's Paper Layout.

Set the environment variable REPORTS_DEFAULT_DISPLAY=YES.
