Import Information from Oracle Designer 10g Into Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler 19.4 (Doc ID 2658582.1)

Last updated on JUNE 24, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler - Version 19.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Need to move away from Designer 10g since it is no longer supported. Currently have data models, ERD, module, packages, procedures etc in Designer. Is it possible to export everything from Designer 10g and import into Data Modeler 19.4?

Also, Data Modeler does not support concurrent sessions since there is no database repository, and it uses the version control to achieve this either subversion or Git.  Currently, all developers access Designer, so moving to this standalone model, how does the import tool work for each of them? Should each have to import from existing Designer of the modules they are currently working? In that case, if concurrent users want to make changes, how is the locking handled?
