Symptoms

An Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) 12.3 replicat abends on startup with:

OGG-00303  Unable to connect to database using user <USER>@<DB_ALIAS>. Ensure that the necessary privileges are granted to the user.  Unable to initialize database connection because of error.

Changes

The target Oracle database was upgraded from 12c to 19c.
