Database Links Are Not Closed Automatically by Forms Runtime (Doc ID 266251.1)

Symptoms

o A Server Process is created in the Remote Database that persists in inactive state even after
the Database Link is no longer in Use by the Oracle Forms Runtime.
o The FORMS_DDL('Alter Session Close Database Link DBLInk_Name'); has NO EFFECT.
o From the SQL Plus, you are successfully able to close the Database link using the
Alter Session Close Database Link DBLInk_Name; in the SAME SESSION.

Changes

o You are reffering or operating on a Table or any Object that is on a Remote Database through the
DataBase Link.
