Broken Pipe error when trying to load adf application for human task (Doc ID 2669177.1)

Symptoms

There is an ADF Form which displays a human task. When this UI is open it may take longer than 2 - 3 minutes which may be correct depending on the application and what it needs to process.  However, after several minutes has passed a broken pipe error may occur in the logs:
