Goal

An Example of How to Implement Microsoft Active Directory to OID Synchronization

Scope & Application
It is assumed that you have a successful OID instance running and have an existing Microsoft Active Directory already running. This Procedure will setup the synchronization process to do the proper mapping so that users created in Active Directory will be added to the OID Realm.

Note: The agent profile names by default will be ActiveXXXXX if you use one of the preconfigured profiles. However, you may copy and rename them whatever you wish. There are two different methods defined in Microsoft's Active Directory SDK. One is DirSync and the other is USNChanged. Dirsync is used in the profiles ActiveImport and ActiveExport. USNChanged is used in the profile ActiveChgImp. Generally, the ActiveChgImp profile is used for importing rather than ActiveImport.
