Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio, when importing a package into another environment using legacy or regular import, some mappings included in the package have missing references after the import. Packages with this issue show an Exclamation Mark next to their names. When editing the mapping in the package a new tab called "Missing References" is displayed.

Opening such package shows the following error popup:

To reproduce:

  1. Start ODI Studio and connect to the **source** Repository
  2. Navigate to a given Project and edit a package
    --> Observe the GUID value
  3. Edit Mapping contained in the package
    --> Observe the GUID value
  4. Start ODI Studio and connect to the **destination** Repository.
  5. Navigate to Project and edit a package
    --> Observe the GUID is identical to the one in **source**
  6. Edit Mapping contained in the package
    --> Observe the GUID is identical to the one in **source**
  7. Export the Package from **source** selecting simple / regular export.
  8. Import the Package into **destination** selecting "synonym INSERT_UPDATE" mode.
  9. Edit the Package imported, and observe the error message that pops-up.
  10. Click OK to bypass error and view the mapping mentioned in the error message.
    --> Mapping shows a red "X" icon.
  11. Right-click and chose "Edit the Linked Object"
    --> This opens the Mapping, as expected.
