OUD 12c Password with Brace Special Character {} Causes "ldap_bind: Invalid credentials" (Doc ID 2683147.1)

Symptoms

Character Set for password states the following special characters are available ~!@#$%^&*()-_=+[]{}|;:,.<>/? as supported.
However, when { character is used in the first position and a } follows anywhere in the password on user account, Account is created or updated but password is invalid during authentication.


Examples:

bash-4.1$ ldapbind -h <OUD_HOSTNAME> -p <OUD_PORT> -D "cn=<USERNAME>,ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN" -w {Pas}word1
ldap_bind: Invalid credentials

bash-4.1$ ldapbind -h <OUD_HOSTNAME> -p <OUD_PORT> -D "cn=<USERNAME>,ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN" -w {Password}1
ldap_bind: Invalid credentials
