Refresh Variables Check Box in ODI Load Plan is Disabled After Import (Doc ID 2683533.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.x Load Plan contains scenarios and variables imported from another environment using Smart Import or through labels. The check box to enable the variable refresh is grayed out, and cannot be selected.

 

You can observe this by opening the root step of the Load Plan, and in the Properties, examine the Variables section. There are two columns -- Overwrite and Refresh -- and the checkbox for Refresh is disabled.
