Symptoms

In an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) environment that is configured with Git version control system (VCS), when creating new versions of ODI objects (mappings or otherwise) the following error message is sometimes seen:

 

Once this error occurs, the offline Git repository appears to be corrupted, and ODI VCS Action "Pending Changes" no longer works. 

Steps that lead to the issue:

  1. Login to ODI Studio
  2. Run: Team -> VCS Actions... -> Pending Changes
  3. Select all modified ODI objects
  4. Create version
  5. Enter comment, click OK
    => The error may occur after some time
