OAM Password Policy Does Not Update Obpasswordexpirydate Attribute On Password Change (Doc ID 2719695.1)

Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 11.1.2.3.190209 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using OAM password policy to enforce password change, the ObPasswordExpiryDate attribute in LDAP is not updated when the user's password is reset.  If OAM is integrated with OIM this may result in inconsistent password states between the two products.

NOTE:

It is generally NOT recommended to use OAM password policy and OIM (Oracle Identity Manager)/OIG (Oracle Identity Governance) password policy in the same environment.  This is not an intended use.  If OAM and OIM/OIG are integrated, the expectation is OIG password policy will be used.
