Java SE 8u261 Linux RPM Installer Does Not Update the Linux Alternatives Framework (Doc ID 2720169.1)

Symptoms

When upgrading a Java SE Linux RPM installation to Java SE 8 Update 261 (8u261), the Linux alternatives framework is not updated with the binary links for the 8u261 version.  After the upgrade, the  /etc/alternatives directory is missing all of the links to the Java SE 8u261 binaries, except the java binary.

 This issue occurs only with Linux RPM installations and only when upgrading to 8u261 or higher update from any version older than 8u261.  This issue does not occur when upgrading from 8u261 to any higher update/version.
