Upgrade NIO Enabled Environment to 12.2.1.4 Corrupts Lucene Index in NIO Shared Filesystem (Doc ID 2725447.1)

Symptoms

WebCenter Sites 12.2.1.4.0 Additional Upgrade Documentation (<Document 2604831.1>)

1) Revert NIO to disk filesystem
2) Upgrade the lucene index as per the "Post-Upgrade Tasks"
3) Convert back to NIO again
4) See lucene index errors such as:

"An exception occurred on the server while executing UI/Data/Search/Search: IndexFormatTooOldException: Format version is not supported (resource BufferedChecksumIndexInput(SimpleFSIndexInput(path="/[sharedfs]/lucene/Page/segments_48"))): 1 (needs to be between 4 and 6). This version of Lucene only supports indexes created with release 5.0 and later… If the problem persists please contact the system administrator."
