Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

The Auto suggest / Type ahead Feature in the User Access List (ACL) of WebCenter Portal Content Manager Task Flow Doesn’t work as Expected.

The auto suggest for users can present any of the following behaviors depending on the browser used and the number of users with the pattern being typed:

Issue can be reproduced when setting security on folders or files or with the Propagate settings of a folder in the Document Task Flow.

Issue is more noticeable when using IE browser.

Note: The issue also reproduces in the Content Server ADF UI (e.g., http:<host>:<port>/wcc).

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect to be able to scroll trough the list of users.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Create a Portal with Documents Service Enabled and a Fodler.

  1. Connect to WebCenter Portal.

  2. Go to a Portal with Documents Service Enabled.

  3. Create a Folder in the portal.

Test with IE browser.

  1. Select the folder and then : More -> Propagate

  2. Note you can see the Portal, folder and files in the back window.

  3. Test searching a user that has same string pattern as other users.
The more users the search brings the easier to see the issue.

    • You will see the list of users appears briefly and then disappears.

    • If you repeat the search you will see a list of users, however there is no scroll bar in the list of users.
Also when you see the list of users you will see the back window becomes too large that you can't see the Portal, folder and files in the back window.

    • If you try to use the scroll bar from the PopUp window you can see the list of users disappears.
While this happens you will see the back window scrolling up.

    • If you do a search that returns less users you will also see the back window scrolling up.

Test with FireFox browser

  1. Select the folder and then : More -> Propagate

  2. Test searching a user that has same string pattern as other users.
The more users the search brings the easier to see the issue).

    • You will see a list of users, however there is no scroll bar in the list of users.

    • If you try to use the scroll bar from the PopUp window you can see the list of users disappears.

    • If you try to use the window scroll bar you can see the list of users disappears as you scroll down and the window jumps back up.

    • If you do a search that returns less users you will see the page in the back starts scrolling up.
