Changed Behavior in Scenario Generation when Selecting Variables in ODI 12.2.1.4.0 (Doc ID 2728011.1)

Goal

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4 project level variable used in a mapping calls a global variable in select query. The global variable references another global variable in the select query.
When generating the scenario, all three variables are "Scenario Variables" "Startup Parameters" selection.
The mapping however works even if the global variables are not selected.


In ODI 12.2.1.2.6, only the project level variable would be shown in this dialog.

Which behavior is considered correct?
