Certification Event Trigger Job is Triggering Unwanted Certification Tasks When the Certification Definition Associated Has Option Prevent Self Certification Enabled (Doc ID 2744467.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 07, 2022

Applies to:

Identity Manager - Version 11.1.2.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

To better understand the issue, first lets see the behavior without Certification option Prevent Self Certification

The base for the use case is the following:

User User1 has an Entitlement TestRole1000

Entitlement TestRole1000 has as certifier user User4

An Entitlement certification is defined with the following key aspects

There is then an Event Listener defined for the above Certification with the following trigger rule:

The rule translates to, when a user gets his/her country field modified, certify that user by running the certification associated.

In our scenario it means that once we modify User1's Country field and Event Listener schedule job is run a certification task will be sent to User4 as we can see below:

Now lets see the issue we are addressing in this document that takes place when Prevent self certification is enabled

The certification gets its configuration modified so Prevent self certification is enabled and Alternate Reviewer is set as the User Manager

Adding Prevent self certification in our scenario should not matter has user User1 is not the reviewer but User4 (Entitlement certifier) so the same certification task should be generated.

On following the same use case as previously (modify User1's Country field) this time an extra certification task is generated for a user , User3 that did not get his/her Country field modified.
