Error Logging in to Web Verifier with Windows Credentials "User name or password is invalid. Please try again." (Doc ID 2746579.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Forms Recognition - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Recently customer has migrated from one datacenter to another datacenter.

Following things has been done so far.

  1. Install fresh WFR install on new environment.
  2. Followed the Note.2264982.1
  3. Customer is using Windows authentication but somehow customer is not able to login with <domain>\<user> on Web Verifier login page.

The text returned in Web Verifier when the Domain user account attempts to connect is below:

User name or password is invalid. Please try again.

They want to use Windows Authentication to login using Active Directory accounts, but they won't be logged in to their local PCs as that AD account. They want to be able to provide the <Domain>\<Username> and the password when they connect to Web Verifier to authenticate instead of it automatically using their local Windows login credentials.
